| Damary M. Bonilla
Latina PAC Chair Damary M. Bonilla serves as the Project Manager for Girls Incorporated's National Latina Initiative where she works with affiliates across the United States and Canada. Passionate about improving the lives of the underserved, she has worked for the NYC Council, NYS Assembly, and NYS Senate. Ms. Bonilla holds a B.A. in Spanish and Social Work from the College of New Rcohelle where she graduated with departmental honors and received several awards. She also holds an M.S. in Organizational Communications and a Special Certification in Corporate Communications from the College of New Rochelle. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctoral degree in Executive Leadership focusing on Latina Leadership, from St. John Fisher College. Ms. Bonilla is passionate about the education and empowerment of Latina women. She is on the Board of the Latina Leadership Forum where she holds the position of Secretary. She is also on the advisory committees for the CDC's HIV education of Latina and African American girls project at Girls Incorporated, Diversifying our centers initiative of the National Council on Research for Women, and SciGirls En Espanol La Familia initiative from PBS. Latina PAC Executive Director Marcos D. Vigil, was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. Mr. Vigil has received several awards. He holds a B.A. in History from Princeton University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He is a member of the NYS Bar Association, NJS Bar Association, NY Council for Urban Professionals, the Hispanic National Bar Association where he served on the Government Relations Committee, and the Puerto Rican Bar Association of NY, where he serves as Corresponding Secretary. Mr. Vigil is currently a resident in the NY office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP; he is a member of the Litigation Group focusing on complex commercial contracts, products liability, trademark infringement, professional liability among many other matters. Mr. Vigil's experience also includes international litigation, primarily throughout Latin America. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eileen Kelly
Latina PAC Treasurer Eileen Kelly is Backlist Coordinator for the Operations department at Penguin Publishing. She is also a private tutor in the areas of math and science. She holds a B.S. in Marine Sciences from Long Island University-Southampton College and received an M.S. in Marine Biology from Nova Southeastern University. In the sciences, Latinas are very underrepresented. Ms. Kelly hopes to change that and make science education more accessible and attractive to Hispanic students. She also hopes to start a non-profit organization to help schools locally, as well as in Latin America. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Veronica Rosa
Latina PAC Assistant Treasurer Veronica Rosa holds a B.A. in International Relations from Syracuse University, and is pursuing her M.S. in Management and Policy from Stony Brook University. Ms. Rosa is currently in between careers. Previously, she was a Program Officer at the Department for the Aging where she was responsible to ensure compliance by monitoring contracted programs. Ms. Rosa is also involved in ACCION USA as a council member and part of the advocacy committee. ACCION USA works with those who most often lack access to credit-women, immigrant, and minority business owners. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marcela Santamaria
Latina PAC Secretary Marcela Santamaría was born in NY and raised in Medellín, Colombia where she attended Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín. She later returned to NY to earn her B.A. in Political Science from Hunter College of the City University. Ms. Santamaria began working at Citi Asset Management as an Associate Sales Assistant where she managed operations for the Puerto Rico Retirement Funds. She was promoted to Assistant Vice President, given the responsibility for Product Development and Branch Operations of the College Savings business for Smith Barney. She went on to become Project Manager for Corporate Branch Administration within Smith Barney where she has been responsible for developing and implementing new systems for the sales force. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sarah Branley
Latina PAC Assistant Secretary/Communications Coordinator Sarah Branley is a graduate of Pace University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She is an experienced writer and online community manager who is well versed in the fields of marketing and communications. Sarah worked for the non-profit organization Girls Incorporated as their Web Coordinator interviewing prestigious women such as author Esmeralda Santiago & and entrepreneur Ary Nunez; she also worked on their recent public service announcement campaign “Dear World.” Currently, Sarah is working in the for-profit sector in the marketing field. |
